The Alshanti are a proud warrior race, deeply connected to their world.
Driven into hiding by the colonists who renamed their world 'Nanceddan', they have remained aloof from most who seek to find them.
They live in camps, easily packed down and moved if needed. Their lives are dictated by what they consider their fate. The mystics of the clans teach their ways to the younglings - the littles.
Part of the stories told by the mystics are about the Old Blood - thought lost in the colonization of the world. People who possess the Old Blood are said to be able to touch the Paths between the worlds and have other gifts that have been forgotten to myth.
