Medical officer serving aboard the Potemkin starting around 2384. While Doctor Arnet was relieved of duty, along with Commander Arkin and Captain Mitchell, Anera found himself running sickbay during the disastrous encounter with The Ascendent in the Holt Nebula. He would help treat engineers brought in by Chloe Vasser and Rollands, who had been injured by her console exploding. Anera was briefly on the bridge before the ship was attacked above Yahta VII.

(Anera is a male through the initial three appearances. A female Anera, also a lieutenant medical officer, would appear years later. Production staff say the character was intended to be the same person, but a mix up caused an accidental gender switch)
