The Potemkin encountered the Collaboration when the two vessel accidentally came across each other in the Orlan system. The Collaboration was studying the star and related asteroid belt but was not transmitting a transponder. Unfortunately, the 'Tem had chosen the Orlan system to conduct tactical exercises. The Axlorians perceived the launched fighters as a threat and responded in kind. Warp was eventually successful in convincing the crew of the Collaboration that it was simply misunderstanding. He offered to leave the system if the vessel would turn on a transponder to avoid more misunderstandings.
