A fiery nebula and stellar nursery

A insectoid species from the Gamma Quadrant. In the 14th century they raided into Klingon territory and sacked Qo'noS itself. Their name means "Outsider" in Klingon, and they consider themselves mortal enemies with the "Cangon."

The Hur'q also made it to Earth in the 17th century BC and set themselves up as rulers over the area of ancient Eqypt. The humans called them "Hyksos," which also translates to "Outsider" or "Foreigner." They were eventually driven from Earth. However, they implanted something into the human genetic code that they would hope bring the Terrans to their planet and turn them into Hur'q.

Although considered extinct by at least 2372, the Potemkin found a Hur'q outpost in the Gamma Quadrant in 2384 while trapped by a closed Bajoran wormhole. They encountered a living Hur'q who activated this DNA flaw and began to mutate the crew. Fortunately they were able to escape and reverse the effects.

Nothing further of the Hur'q has been seen.
