A fiery nebula and stellar nursery

Black Hawk, U.S.S.

The state-of-the-art ship in black operations, this ship was hand picked at Utopia Planitia by Admiral Ellis himself. Shortly after his promotion to Full Admiral in late 2372 and subsequent assignment as Second-In-Command of StarFleet Security, Admiral Ellis was given his choice of vessel. With this power, he picked a ship that was just off the assembly line. He moved his office onto the ship, and, through some favors, made himself Commanding Officer. The USS Black Hawk fought all throughout the Dominion War, and underwent frequent upgrades and refits. In 2375, the Black Hawk was hit by a meteor shower while engaging a Jem'Hadar attack ship in battle. The ship was recovered and underwent major repairs for 3 years.

StarFleet moved Admiral Ellis's office to Andoria in 2378 and from here he organized various operations and soon the Black Hawk was turned over to a Captain Harding. However, when Admiral Ellis and Lieutenant Commander Prax organized the Tactical Defense Fleet, Ellis regained command of the ship and made it the leader of Epsilon Flight. The Black Hawk and her crew fought valiantly and repelled the first attack. However, during the second wave, a Trai'Dar Six Shooter-class decloaked underneath the BW at a 90 degree angle, and bisected the ship. All hands were lost. The Black Hawk had been Fleet Leader up until her destruction, the title passed to the USS Potemkin.

Named after the American Military Helicopter Series used during the late 20th and early 21st centuries.
