To the starboard of the main bridge is the Bridge Airlock. It permits direct access to space and the dorsal hull from deck 1. Stowed in its lockers are enough environmental suits for the entire bridge crew complement, vacuum-rated weapons, and several maneuvering thruster packs for free movement in a zero-gravity environment.

The Bridge Airlock compartment also provides access to the bridge's lifeboats, located further forward along the starboard side of the deck.
